Work Completed on New Locker Rooms for ETSU Football Program

Preston Construction recently wrapped up renovations in the Mountain States Health Alliance Building for new locker facilities for ETSU’s Football Program.  Work was completed in time for the beginning of spring practice.  ETSU’s football season will kick off in September.

Included in the renovations were the modification of existing building systems and spaces for the installation of custom-built solid maple wood lockers.  A rubberized sports flooring with custom graphics was also installed, along with LED direct/indirect and tract lighting.

ETSU Solar Panels First of its Kind in Tennessee

Work has been completed on a new energy and cost-saving initiative at ETSU.  The Center for Physical Activity is now home to the first solar wall in the state of Tennessee.  Preston Construction installed the solar wall on a 3,360-square-foot area of the CPA’s roof.  The project took about one month to complete.

Solar collectors will gather heat from the sunlight, which will then travel through the heating units in the building.  In addition to reducing the campus’s heating bills, the solar wall will use less electricity than traditional heating methods, thus having a lower impact on the environment.

The solar wall is the only one of its kind on a university campus in Tennessee, and ETSU officials are planning for more energy and cost-saving projects like this in the future.
